Twins Bookmark

Reading with your buddy—or your twin sister, for that matter—is double the fun. This new bookmark, illustrated by Shannon Wright, features twins and best friends Maureen and Francine Carter from the graphic novel series Twins. Written by Coretta Scott King Honor author Varian Johnson, Twins follows the Carter sisters, who do everything together—at least until the start of sixth grade, when it seems like everything changes.

In addition to being a twin himself, Varian Johnson was inspired to write Twins by his daughters, who love graphic novels but struggled to find ones where they could see Black girls like themselves as stars of the story. Shannon Wright was excited to illustrate Twins on behalf of her younger self, who picked up a pencil one day and couldn’t put it down.
