Octavia Spencer has brought many book characters to life on the big screen. To some, Octavia may be best known for her for her role as Minny Jackson in the film adaptation of The Help, for which she won numerous awards including the Golden Globe, Critics' Choice, and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Teens may know her best from her co-starring role as Johanna Reyes in The Divergent Series: Insurgent. Octavia has also appeared in dozens of TV shows. Outside of film and TV, Octavia is an avid reader and children’s book author. She created the Randi Rhodes, Ninja Detective series featuring three friends solving mysteries in the small town of Deer Creek.
