Are you trying to build a world of imagination without inciting a wild rumpus? Does your play environment foster skills for early literacy or for the monkey bars? Four Youth Services departments will lead a discussion of play space design and management. Bring your hits, your misses, and your burning questions to this informative exchange of ideas. A list of recommended vendors and play items will be provided.

Participants will be learn:

  • how to talk to their library manager or board about the importance of play spaces;
  • how to create play spaces in their libraries;
  • about great toys and furniture for their play space; and
  • how to manage their play space.

Jen, Ellen, Christy and Anne are seasoned children's services managers who have all played an integral role in creating play spaces for their libraries, and other libraries. For this presentation they have visited several libraries, and gleaned information from their peers to be able to provide relevant and practical information for all libraries.
