Strategies for Coping with Toxic People Workshop
A 90-minute workshop, Wednesday, March 13, 2019, 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific

Whether they are patrons, co-workers, friends, or family members, toxic people can seem to defy our logic and understanding. Some are oblivious of the negative impact that they have on those around them, and others seem to derive satisfaction from creating chaos and pushing other people’s buttons. In almost every situation, dealing with toxic people can be very stressful.

In this webinar, Andrew Sanderbeck offers you strategies for dealing with toxic people that will enable you to control what you can and eliminate what you can’t. You’ll learn that you are in control of far more than you realize. You’ll walk away not only with skills you can use in the library, but that you can use in life.

By participating in this workshop, you will learn

  • A better understanding of the drivers of toxic behaviors
  • Specific tactics, tips, and tools for responding to toxic communications
  • How to use the E + R = O technique to stay centered when dealing with toxicity
  • How to get work done, have effective communication, and not let the toxic person or environment control you

While completing your purchase, fill in the name and e-mail address of the participant who will sign in to the event by clicking the "Attendees" button to the right of the item in your cart. This individual will receive an e-mail from WebEx confirming registration before the event begins. Attendees should add messenger@webex.com to their approved email sender list, so they can ensure that they receive the automatic notifications.

This is an online event hosted through WebEx. Further technical information is available at the ALA Store FAQ page.
