Sandy Dolnick

Sandy Dolnick, founder and newly retired executive director of Friends ofLibraries USA (FOLUSA), is the foremost authority on volunteer support throughLibrary Friends groups. A leading expert on library advocacy and fundraising, she spent her career encouraging community volunteer supporters of libraries. She continues as an active supporter of Friendsgroups and other community organizations. Editor of the classic Friends of Libraries Sourcebook, Dolnick became executive director of FOLUSA in 1985. Under her leadership, FOLUSA grew tomore than 2,500 Friends groups reaching one million members in 50 states while offering a comprehensive program of education, information, and advocacy.
