Come play in our Podcast Playground where we’ll listen, explore, and play with the evolving world of kids podcasting. In Part 2, we’ll play with how podcasts can connect with library collections, as well as share ideas for incorporating kids podcasts into programming to inspire curiosity and learning.
Participants will be able to articulate how children’s podcasting connects with children’s services (quick review of learning objective from Part 1 in order to provide the foundation for the session). {Comprehension outcome - we will compare and contrast audio storytelling and learning with children’s library services, highlighting the ways librarians can play a role in helping shape this medium.}
Participants will be able to propose three different ways to connect their collections (print and digital) to related podcast episodes. {Note: Synthesis outcome - we will share three concrete examples of how collections can be connected with podcast episodes modeling how network concepts can enhance/promote library collections}
Participants will be able to propose three programming ideas using kids podcasts. {Note: Application outcome - we will share three specific podcast programming ideas, one for birth to 5, one for 6 to 9, and another for 10 to 12.}
