The Horn Book

With 75 years of rich history behind it, The Horn Book has been one of the leading journals covering and reviewing children's literature. The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association, is an organization that supports the profession of children's librarianship and annually awards the Newbery and Caldecott Medals.

Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC)

For more than eight decades, librarians from the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) have intensely scrutinized the children's books published each year, selecting the winning and honor books for the Newbery and Caldecott Awards. In addition, the ALSC division of the ALA is committed to creating a nation of readers, starting with the youngest. ALSC supports all those providing library services to children, including youth librarians, teachers, families, literature experts, publishers, and child advocates.

"What a treasure for the busy librarian, educator, researcher or book lover! Although similar resources have been published, there is none that incorporates all of the components of this work."
—Catholic Library World

"...impart[s] useful information about the books and those whose talents led to their awards..."

"Librarians, teachers, families, and the curious will agree that this is indeed a comprehensive guide to the winners of the last 15 years."
