Monique Delatte Starkey

A Library Journal Mover and Shaker, Monique Delatte Starkey is an associate professor at Fullerton College and an adjunct for Rio Hondo College. She worked in teen services for over five years with the County of Los Angeles Public Library. She has authored and co-authored over $100,000 in grants for libraries. Sponsored by Fullerton College and YALSA as a member of the 2011 cohort of ALA Emerging Leaders, she began taking advantage of the opportunities available with YALSA through publication in Excellence in Library Services to Young Adults. She continued to publish with YALSA via Young Adult Library Services Journal and Cool Teen Programs Under $100. She also teaches four-week online YALSA courses including "Growing, Managing, and Defending the Young Adult Budget." Vegetarian strawbrarian Delatte Starkey lives in Belmont Heights, SoCal, with her husband David, five frisky foster felines, and their neighbors' three cats: White Cat, Grey Cat, and Orange Twitchy Cat.
