Michelle Hahn

Michelle Hahn is the Assistant Librarian and Sound Recordings Cataloger at the William & Gayle Cook Music Library at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she is responsible for the description, arrangement, maintenance, and management of audio and audiovisual collections. She also serves on behalf of the Cook Music Library as a collection manager for the Media Digitization and Preservation Initiative (MDPI). Michelle is a frequent conference speaker and has published articles in Directions in Music Cataloging and Music Reference Services Quarterly. Her professional involvements include appointments as the Newsletter Editor for the Music Library Association (MLA), Social Media Coordinator for the Music OCLC Users Group (MOUG), Assistant Web Editor for the International Association of Music Libraries and Documentation Centres (IAML), and a member and primary editor of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) Communication Board Pilot. She is also the incoming Vice Chair/Chair-Elect of MOUG, followed by Chair and Past Chair, respectively. Michelle supervises library science students interning in Sound Recordings Cataloging, co-teaches Cataloging, and is an instructor in a seminar in music librarianship at Indiana University, Bloomington. She received her Master of Library Science with a Music Librarianship Specialization from Indiana University and her Bachelor of Music (cum laude) in Music Education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
