Mary M. Carr

Mary M. Carr is the executive director of CCS Library Services, Community Colleges of Spokane, in Spokane, Washington. A nationally certified Sustainable Building Advisor, a LEED AP, and a Certified Green Professional of the National Association of Home Builders, she has been involved in various aspects of sustainability. She worked locally on the former Spokane Mayor's Task Force on Sustainability and served as treasurer of the local Main Market Co-op natural food store. She has been a leader in promoting sustainability through the humanities by leading Spokane Community College's Hagan Foundation Center for the Humanities' three-year study of sustainability. She also served as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the American Association of Community Colleges Sustainability Task Force. She has served for the last two years as as a member of the U.S. Green Building Council's Greenbuild Special Programs Working Group. She co-taught the Sustainable Building Advisory course of study during the 2011-2012 academic year. In addition to her green building credentials, Mary is in her second term on the ACRL/LLAMA Interdivisional Committee on Building Resources. She is also a certified Lean Technician.
