Graphic Design Skills for All Library Employees Workshop
A two-part workshop, each session lasts 90 minutes on Wednesdays, June 12 and 19, 2019, starting at 1:00pm Eastern/12:00pm Central/11:00am Mountain/10:00am Pacific on both days

Develop graphic design skills and put them to use! If you don’t have experience with graphic design, getting started can be intimidating. In this two-part workshop, web design expert Aaron Schmidt will provide you with an accessible and practical guide to graphic design. With Aaron’s guidance, you’ll discover tools that you can use to improve your library's signs, posters, brochures, websites, and more. You will be able to use ideas from these sessions to improve existing and new graphic touch points.

Aaron will provide you with an assignment at the end of the first session and will be available between sessions to answer your questions, providing you with the hands-on experience you need to get started.

After participating in this workshop, you will

  • Understand the basics of graphic design as applied to library materials (posters, signage, etc.);
  • Have experience redesigning something in your library;
  • Be able to better assess the graphic design in your library; and
  • Have seen inspiring examples of great graphic design in libraries.

While completing your purchase, fill in the name and e-mail address of the participant who will sign in to the event by clicking the "Attendees" button to the right of the item in your cart. This individual will receive an e-mail from WebEx confirming registration before the event begins. Attendees should add messenger@webex.com to their approved email sender list, so they can ensure that they receive the automatic notifications.

This is an online event hosted through WebEx. Further technical information is available at the ALA Store FAQ page.
