Gordon Dunsire

Gordon Dunsire is the RDA Technical Team Liaison Officer. He was formerly Chair of the RDA Steering Committee and has been involved with the development of RDA since the 1997 Toronto conference on the future of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules. He is a member of the Cataloguing Section of the International Federation of Library Associations and institutions (IFLA) and is a member or liaison of the groups that develop and maintain the IFLA bibliographic standards, including the Library Reference Model, International Standard Bibliographic Description, and UNIMARC. Gordon worked in the academic library sector for 35 years before retiring in 2010 as Head of the Centre for Digital Library Research at the University of Strathclyde to become an independent consultant. He was a recipient in 1998 of the Library Association Charter Centenary Gold Medal for technical contributions to libraries in Scotland and a recipient of an IFLA medal in 2016 for contributions to the development of linked data for libraries. Gordon is co-author of Bibliographic Information Organization in the Semantic Web and is widely published in professional journals. He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.
