Casey Mullin

Casey Mullin is Head of Cataloging and Metadata Services at Western Washington University. He formerly served as Music Cataloger at the New York Public Library and as Head of Data Control for the Stanford University Libraries. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Western Washington University and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University Bloomington. He recently concluded a term as chair of the MLA Vocabularies Subcommittee (formerly the Subject Access Subcommittee), was a member of the MLA Genre/Form Task Force and Authorities Subcommittee, and chaired the RDA Music Implementation Task Force. Outside of MLA, Mullin served on the ALCTS Subject Analysis Committee's Subcommittee on Genre Form Implementation and currently serves on its successor group, the Subcommittee on Faceted Vocabularies. Accordingly, he has been involved with various aspects of Library of Congress faceted vocabulary development for the past nine years. Casey has given numerous presentations about these endeavors and recently began a three-year term on the Program for Cooperative Cataloging's Policy Committee.
