Shipping, taxes, payment options, member discounts, and international ordering
Shipping
The ALA Store ships products via United Parcel Service (UPS) Ground unless
customer requests otherwise. International orders cannot currently be processed
online. See International Orders, below. UPS does not ship to P.O. boxes. If
a street address is unavailable, items can be shipped to P.O. boxes by First
Class/Priority Mail at the same shipping/handling charge. These shipments are not
insured, and the ALA cannot be held responsible for lost or misplaced orders.
Below is the schedule of shipping and handling charges for the ALA Store:

Up to $49.99 = $9.00
$50.00 to $99.99 = $11.00
$100 to $149.99 = $13.00
$150 to $199.99 = $14.00
$200 to $299.99 = $15.00
$300 to $999.99 = $20.00
$1000+ = call for quote

Sales Tax/Tax-Exempt
ALA collects sales tax on all taxable orders in Illinois, Georgia, Connecticut,
and the District of Columbia. If you are ordering from one of these areas and
are NOT tax-exempt, sales tax will be automatically added to your order.
If you ARE tax-exempt, and have been charged sales tax, please fax us a copy
of your tax exempt form, along with your order number, and we will credit you
the sales tax charge. All tax credit requests should be faxed to: 770-280-4155

Payment Options
The ALA Store accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express
credit cards. Organizations with established ALA accounts in good standing
may order through a purchase order number and will be invoiced.
Order Processing
You will receive an email confirmation that your order has
been received. Purchase orders and credit card orders will be processed by
our order and fulfillment service in the same way as mail, phone, email,
or fax orders.

International Orders
ALA Editions
If you are ordering ALA Editions titles from outside the United
States and its territories, please place your order with the appropriate foreign
representative listed below to ensure the fastest and most economical shipment
of your order. If you choose to order directly through the American Library
Association, all international orders must be prepaid in full with U.S. funds
by wire transfer, credit card, Performa invoice, or cashiers check drawn from
a U.S. bank. All books sent outside the US are shipped via United Parcel Service
International. Orders for shipment outside the United States are subject
to shipping fees, applicable customs, duties and taxes, all of which are
the responsibility of the customer. Postage and handling rates for international
orders will be calculated based upon the weight of the product(s).
