About the Author
Preston Driggers has worked in private and public sector human resources management for more than twenty-five years. He is currently personnel and risk manager for the Douglas Public Library District in Colorado. An active participant in the Colorado Libraries Volunteer Managers Council, he also serves as associate faculty member of Regis University where he teaches courses in organizational behavior, human resources and the sociology of work. Driggers earned a master's degrees in industrial administration and sociology form the University of Illinois and Arizona State University and a doctorate degree in organizational development from Colorado State University.

Eileen Dumas is the special services librarian at the Aurora Public Library in Colorado and has worked in volunteer management since 1991. She has been active in local volunteer organizations serving as board member of the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies, as chair of the City of Aurora Volunteer Coordinators Group, and as a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Since 1998, she has edited the "Volunteer Line" column that runs in Colorado Libraries. Dumas earned a master's degree in library science from Indiana University.
