Reviews

" Effective Blogging for Libraries is the work of an experienced blogger, who has thought to include most of the issues that should be considered when deciding to start a library blog, plus many more … Even if you have been blogging for years, you will find interesting ideas and good examples of blogs to emulate in this slim volume."
--Australian Academic and Research Libraries

"With its brisk, conversational style and succinct but thorough coverage, the book will be a valuable addition to any professional collection. Crosby, a librarian and blogger, deftly strikes a middle ground that welcomes the blogging neophyte without frustrating the more advanced blogger."
--Reference & User Services Quarterly

"Written so that any librarian can understand, whether a reference librarian, a systems librarian, or a Web librarian, or any librarian who is not tech-savvy, this book is useful to any person wanting to know more about blogging, one seeking to implement these technologies either at the library or for personal use, and for those who already have implemented these technologies but wish to know how to go further and best take advantage of these resources."
--ARBA Online

"...highly practical ... I would suggest that librarians take a look at the book and find out what meaningful purposes can be accomplished through blogging without directing the resources to a fashionable activity just because everybody else is doing it."
--Information Research

"Both novice and experienced bloggers will benefit from this valuable resource."
--Library Journal

"Very useful for librarians considering a blog ... Readers don't need a strong technical background to understand the text, but if they have one, there is substance here for them too."
--Michael Sauers, Technology and Innovation Librarian, Nebraska Library Commission
