About the Authors
Loriene Roy is professor in the School of Information of the University of Texas at Austin, where she teaches graduate classes on public libraries, reference, and library instruction/information literacy. She is founder and director of If I Can Read, I Can Do Anything, a national reading club for Native children. She is Anishinabe, enrolled on the White Earth Reservation, and is a member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. She was elected 2007–2008 president of the American Library Association.

Kelly Jensen finished her master's degree in information studies in December 2008 from the University of Texas as Austin, where Roy was her academic advisor. Kelly is actively involved in numerous service projects in the Austin area.

Alex Hershey Meyers earned her masters of science in information studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where she still lives and works. She was a student of Dr. Loriene Roy at the iSchool and was brought on as Roy's assistant for her ALA 2007-2008 Presidential year.
