In this workshop, David Serchay will help you develop your graphic novel collection by providing a wealth of tips and practical advice about buying, recommending, cataloging, and shelving graphic novels. You will gain invaluable knowledge about graphic novels and how best to build and manage an optimal collection that is targeted both to please the format’s many dedicated fans and to help others discover it.

About the Instructor

David S. Serchay is the author of the Librarian’s Guide to Graphic Novels for Children and Tweens and the Librarian’s Guide to Graphic Novels for Adults. He is a Youth Services Librarian for the Broward County (FL) Library System, where his duties include selecting graphic novels for the entire library system. He has spoken on the topic of graphic novels and libraries in many places including the ALA Annual Conference and San Diego Comicon. In addition to his books, he has contributed to various other publications including reference books for Salem Press and ABC-CLIO/Greenwood Press.
